About Accubid

Former electrical contractor Giovanni Marcelli founded Accubid in 1983. The company started as one man’s dream and evolved into North America’s leading solutions provider for contractors. During the early stages, Giovanni purchased a computerized estimating system and was disappointed with its lack of focus on the estimator’s needs. He discovered early estimating systems had bells and whistles, but lacked the core functionality needed to make the contractor's business more efficient.

He knew how to successfully estimate projects, and how he wanted an estimating system to function. Rather than compromise his proven estimating practices by conforming to computerized tools, he decided to develop his own.

His primary focus was to build a system with the checks and balances needed to draft an estimate efficiently, and easily check the estimate's integrity. This continues to be the primary focus of Accubid and its products and professional services.

Giovanni hired eager software developers to help his vision come to reality. With persistence and sheer commitment to a better solution for the industry, the first Accubid estimating system was introduced to the Canadian market in 1985.

At this early stage computers were new to construction, but Accubid's estimating solution achieved steady penetration in the Canadian construction industry. In 1992, after achieving the leading market share in Canada, Accubid was introduced in the United States. Sales have steadily increased over the last decade and today Accubid is the market leader in the electrical construction industry.

This commitment to excellence and innovation has led Accubid to provide solutions to the mechanical construction and the emerging structured cabling industries, and will fuel our continued growth.
